There is Magic in Those Mountains
Having spent a soul-restoring long weekend hiking the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain in Wales, I want to share with you the artworks of one of my favourite painters, Sir Kyffin Williams, RA (1918-12006, Wales).
Many of you are no doubt familiar with his work. Considered as the defining Welsh landscape artist of the 20th century, Sir Williams lived and worked in Pwllfanogl, Llanfairpwll, on the Island of Anglesey, and I like to believe that - years apart - we hiked the same trails and breathed in the same magic.
I did not include titles for these Kyffin Williams paintings; sometimes titles help and sometimes they distract. Just jump into the landscape.
Our dog Bolt - pictured below enjoying possibly the same inspiring Welsh trails as Sir Williams’ pup above - saying hello and wishing everyone a very satisfying week ahead.
