Gao Xiang's acrylic glass installations explore the interaction between the object and its environment. The transparency of the glass allows for almost infinite experiential immersions as the work influences the background and the background influences the perception of the work.

The work changes its character if displayed against a coloured or textured background, and projects a vivid, painting-like shadow if uplit against a white wall.
